Govt pursuing measures to address fuel price volatility: Rana Ehsan Afzal

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce, Rana Ehsan Afzal on Saturday said Pakistan, being an oil-importing country, remained directly affected by fluctuations in international petroleum prices.

He said that domestic fuel prices were determined in accordance with global market trends.

Talking to a private news channel, he said petroleum prices had to be reviewed on a regular basis due to the high level of volatility in the international market, which had intensified amid the ongoing global crisis.

He said the government was working on deregulation in the petroleum sector and expressed the hope that the initiative would provide long-term benefits to consumers.
