Govt taking steps to eliminate terrorism, boost business activity: Rana Ihsan Afzal

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2026) Coordinator to the Prime Minister Rana Ihsan Afzal on Wednesday said the government is taking concrete measures to eliminate terrorism and promote business activity across the country.

Speaking to a private television channel, he said security forces and law enforcement agencies are actively working to prevent the infiltration of terrorists from Afghan territory. He added that Afghanistan should also fulfill its responsibility by taking effective action against terrorist networks operating from its soil.

Commenting on the political situation, Rana Ihsan Afzal criticized the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), alleging that he had promoted politics based on hatred and division.

He urged the PTI leaders to set aside personal agendas and engage in dialogue to address the country's key national challenges.

Responding to another question, he said the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should prioritize improving governance and public service delivery in the province. He also praised Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, saying she is utilizing all available resources to ensure effective governance and improve public services across Punjab.
