Govt to help people raise standard of living: President Zardari

MORO, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th May, 2026) President Asif Ali Zardari Thursday said Pakistan wanted to move ahead economically and the government would help people to make strides in the field of agriculture, earn more income by increasing per acre yield and raise their standard of living.

Addressing a public meeting here, he said Pakistan should remain self sufficient in food and strengthen itself economically to become a strong country.

The President said the government was aware of the problems of the people and was working to resolve issues for the benefit of future generations.

Gwadar will bring positive economic change in Balochistan and Pakistan, he noted.

He said his party will make people of Pakistan familiar about the legacy of Bhutto family.

He said his party will continue to work under the constitution of 1973 and would take steps to empower the people of Pakistan.

Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, Murtaza Bhutto and Shahnawaz Bhutto embraced martyrdom for the sake of Pakistan, he said adding, "We exist because of Pakistan."

He pointed out that India was committing injustices against Muslims but the news about it was not spread widely because of the ban on media.

He said Indian Prime Minister Modi deprived people of Kashmir of their rights, adding Pakistan made India realize about its military strength during the one week war, in which eight planes of India were shot down.

Pakistan could have caused more damaged to India but it avoided escalation, he added.
