ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2026) Member of the National Assembly Sheikh Aftab Ahmad on Wednesday said the launch of Green Electric Buses in Attock was a public welfare initiative by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, describing the service as a valuable gift for the people of the district.

Speaking to media representatives, the MNA said the Punjab government was committed to providing modern transport facilities across the province. He also praised the chief minister's decision to offer free travel to students and senior citizens, calling it a significant step to ease the financial burden on commuters.

Sheikh Aftab said the government planned to expand the electric bus service to other parts of Punjab.

He noted that the buses were equipped with modern amenities to provide passengers with a comfortable travel experience while also helping reduce environmental pollution through cleaner transportation.

He further added that the Federal government and the Punjab government, under the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League (N) leader Nawaz Sharif, were continuing efforts to introduce people-friendly policies and would roll out more public welfare initiatives in the future. He also paid tribute to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for extending the Green Electric Bus service to the people of Attock.
