ATTOCK, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) A vibrant blend of environmental advocacy and academic excellence on Tuesday unfolded at Government Graduate College for Women Attock, where a plantation drive and science exhibition were held under the “One Person, One Plant” initiative spearheaded by Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The event drew enthusiastic participation from students and faculty, reflecting a growing commitment to sustainability and innovation.

The plantation drive was led by chief guest Sheikh Aftab Ahmed alongside Principal Dr. Sobia Ishrat, as they planted saplings across the campus.

Addressing the gathering, the chief guest underscored the urgent need for tree plantation to tackle climate change, deforestation, and pollution. He urged students to adopt environmentally responsible practices, describing plantation as a lasting investment for future generations.

The event also featured a dynamic science exhibition, where students showcased innovative projects spanning physics, chemistry, biology, and environmental science.

The displays highlighted creativity, analytical thinking, and practical application of knowledge. The chief guest toured the stalls, commending participants for their ingenuity and confidence.

Adding further vibrancy, a Home Economics stall presented an array of culinary items and handmade products, demonstrating students’ practical skills and entrepreneurial potential. During his visit, the chief guest engaged with students, listened to their concerns, and encouraged them to strive for academic distinction.

The event concluded with the distribution of certificates to outstanding performers, celebrating their achievements. Overall, the activities at the college underscored the importance of integrating education with environmental responsibility and skill development, inspiring youth to play a proactive role in building a sustainable and progressive society.
