An accountability court on Wednesday adjourned proceedings in a corruption and kickbacks reference against former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi and other accused till May 7

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) An accountability court on Wednesday adjourned proceedings in a corruption and kickbacks reference against former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi and other accused till May 7.

Accountability Court Judge Rana Arif presided over the hearing. Former principal secretary to the Punjab chief minister, Muhammad Khan Bhatti and other accused appeared before the court.

During the proceedings, witnesses of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) appeared to record their statements against the accused. However, counsel for Parvez Elahi, Arshad Javed, did not turn up. An assisting counsel informed the court that the lead lawyer was engaged in a case before the Lahore High Court.

The court directed NAB witnesses to appear again at the next hearing.

A representative marked attendance on behalf of Parvez Elahi, who has been granted permanent exemption from personal appearance due to illness.

Meanwhile, Moonis Elahi has already been declared a proclaimed offender in the case.

The NAB has filed the reference against Parvez Elahi and others on charges of receiving kickbacks and bribes in development projects in Gujrat. The court has already framed charges against the accused.
