Gwadar officials discuss safe tourism zone

GWADAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Naqeebullah Kakar was held to deliberate on the establishment of a Safe Tourism Zone in Gwadar.

The session was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Zahoor Ahmed Baloch, Gwadar Port Authority’s Shabbir Ahmed and Munir Ahmed Bana, Gwadar Development Authority’s Shahid Baloch, along with other stakeholders.

The meeting focused on identifying suitable tourist sites in Gwadar, assessing their potential, and reviewing various aspects of creating a secure tourism zone. Participants agreed on adopting a comprehensive strategy to ensure safe, peaceful, and quality facilities for tourists, improve infrastructure, enhance inter-departmental cooperation, and promote tourism.

Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, Naqeebullah Kakar emphasized that, in line with the vision of the Government of Balochistan, Gwadar will be developed into a safe, attractive, and world-class tourist destination. He directed relevant departments to conduct a detailed survey of proposed sites and prepare actionable recommendations to ensure effective progress on the project.

Officials noted that the establishment of a Safe Tourism Zone will generate new opportunities for tourism, investment, local businesses, and employment, thereby contributing to the district’s economic and social development.
