ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) A fire that broke out in Islamabad’s H-9 Market affected 9 sections of the commercial area, with authorities reporting that 75 to 80 percent of the blaze has been brought under control.
The fire erupted suddenly in the market and spread to several clothing stalls. Officials said the blaze affected a total of nine sections. Rescue and firefighting teams responded immediately after receiving information about the incident.
According to the district administration, the concerned Assistant Commissioner reached the site shortly after the fire was reported and supervised the response operation. Teams from Rescue 1122 Rawalpindi are also taking part in firefighting and relief activities.
Authorities stated that the fire has been controlled in most of the affected sections, while work is ongoing to extinguish the remaining hotspots. Officials confirmed that no casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

The district administration also highlighted its ongoing campaign against the use of LPG cylinders in markets. Officials said inspections and enforcement actions are conducted on a daily basis to prevent the use of LPG cylinders in commercial areas.
As part of these efforts, nine shopkeepers were arrested a day earlier for using LPG cylinders in violation of regulations. The administration reiterated that the use of LPG cylinders in markets is completely prohibited and warned that action will continue against those found violating the ban.
Firefighting operations remain in progress as authorities work to fully extinguish the blaze and assess the extent of the damage caused to shops and market sections.
