Makkah MUKARRAMAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) The Pre-Hajj operation for 2026 is moving forward with significant momentum as 39,959 pilgrims under the government scheme have already arrived in Saudi Arabia, marking the completion of approximately 34% of the total government quota.

To manage this large-scale operation, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has mobilized a 949-member welfare team across key stations to provide seamless support from the moment pilgrims land at the airport to their settlement in residential buildings.

According to Nasir Aziz Khan, Coordinator of Facilitation and Coordination, 155 flights have successfully landed so far, with the current pilgrim population distributed between Makkah, housing 26,679 individuals, and Madinah, where 13,280 are currently residing.

The support infrastructure is robust, consisting of 599 assistants, 184 medical professionals, and 158 technical and SDS personnel who remain on high alert across 24-hour shifts.

This proactive deployment has already facilitated medical care for 8,156 outdoor patients at mission clinics and hospitals across both holy cities. Beyond healthcare, the mission has focused heavily on navigation and logistics; in Makkah, 7,375 pilgrims were assisted with directions, while in Madinah, 20,962 pilgrims completed their visits to Riaz-ul-Jannah.

Additionally, the mission’s efficiency is reflected in its lost and found services, having successfully resolved 2,886 out of 2,900 luggage complaints. Nasir Aziz Khan emphasized that the government remains dedicated to utilizing every available resource to ensure pilgrims can focus entirely on their spiritual journey with peace of mind.
