MAKKAH MUKARRAMAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) The Hajj flight operation to transport Pakistani pilgrims under the Government Scheme to Saudi Arabia has entered its final phase, with 114,078 pilgrims (96 percent) already arriving in the Holy Land via the 'Route to Makkah' initiative and other scheduled flights.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the flight operation from Pakistan will be fully wrapped up late Thursday night following the arrival of 10 more flights carrying the remaining four percent (4,756 pilgrims).
Meanwhile, the transit of all pilgrims from Madinah Munawwarah to Makkah Mukarramah has been successfully completed, bringing the progressive total of pilgrims currently stationed in Makkah to 114,078.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Umar Butt, stated that a dedicated team of 1,520 official welfare officers and staff, along with 947 local assistants, are working round-the-clock to facilitate the pilgrims.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>To ensure smooth transit, 490 buses have been actively deployed in Makkah Mukarramah to ferry the pilgrims. The Pakistan Hajj Mission further reported that 23,823 pilgrims have been guided through the routes to the Grand Mosque (Haram Sharif) so far, while 42,858 pilgrims have standardly been facilitated to pay their respects at the Riaz-ul-Jannah in Madinah Munawwarah.
The ministry spokesperson added that comprehensive healthcare facilities are being provided, with 86,924 patients attended to at the outdoor patient departments (OPD) of the dedicated mission clinics and dispensaries in Makkah and Madinah.
Furthermore, the grievance redressal cell and the Lost & Found department remain fully operational. Out of 2,118 accommodation, catering, and transport-related complaints received, 1,629 have been promptly resolved. Additionally, the mission successfully recovered and handed over 6,820 missing baggage items and wheelchairs out of 6,845 reported lost.
