Hangu district admin expedites Afghan repatriation process

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Hangu, Baseer Ali Rehman, on Wednesday directed all relevant departments to expedite the repatriation of Afghan refugees and ensure close coordination for a smooth, organized and transparent return process.

Chairing a high-level meeting at his office, the deputy commissioner reviewed arrangements for the dignified, phased and timely repatriation of Afghan nationals. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Nasir Khan, Assistant Commissioner, Additional Assistant Commissioners, representatives of the Afghan Commissionerate and officials of other concerned departments.

The officials briefed the meeting on progress made so far, administrative challenges and the strategy for the next phases of the repatriation process.

The deputy commissioner stressed that all departments should strengthen mutual coordination in line with the government’s policy and ensure that no delay or obstacle hampers the ongoing repatriation efforts.

He said the return process must be conducted in a transparent, well-organized and dignified manner while ensuring effective monitoring of all administrative measures.

The meeting reiterated the district administration’s commitment to utilizing all available resources to complete the repatriation process in accordance with the prescribed framework.
