HARIPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) A large-scale career fair aimed at promoting employment and skills development was successfully held in Haripur which attracted a significant number of students, graduates and employers from across the region.
The event was organized by Ranking Grow in collaboration with Metrix Pakistan, the Directorate of Youth Affairs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Haripur Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It sought to establish direct connections between job seekers and potential employers.
According to organizers, more than 1,500 participants attended the fair, which featured over 50 job openings, more than 200 internship opportunities and approximately 1,000 training slots. Several candidates were shortlisted and hired on the spot, indicating strong demand for skilled youth.
PML-N member national assembly Babar Nawaz Khan attended the event as chief guest while Syeda Amina Gilani, Malik Umair Khalid, Syed Safdar Zaman Shah and Waqar Ali were also present on the occasion. Representatives from various sectors, including law, education, civil service and business, also participated.
Speaking at the event, Ammad Ali said the initiative aimed to bridge the gap between education and the job market by promoting practical skills and industry exposure. He emphasised the importance of providing young people with platforms that connect them to real employment opportunities.
He added that broader efforts were underway to prepare thousands of individuals for the workforce through structured training and mentorship programmes.
Babar Nawaz Khan appreciated the organizers and stressed the importance of such initiatives in unlocking the potential of youth, calling for continued efforts to enhance employment opportunities.
Syeda Amina Gilani highlighted the growing importance of modern technical skills and referred to ongoing vocational training programmes across the country. She expressed interest in future collaborations to further support youth development.
Malik Umair Khalid underscored the role of the private sector in job creation and called for improved coordination between employers and training institutions.
Other speakers also praised the initiative and stressed the need for sustained efforts to tackle unemployment challenges.
Organizers stated that the event concluded successfully with support from local authorities and that participants would continue to receive guidance and access to further training opportunities.
Attendees described the fair as a positive step towards promoting employment and building a skills-based economy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
