Pakistani fast bowler Haris Rauf has responded to recent critique of his performance in high-pressure situations by claiming that he does not listen to what people say or social media commentators.
In one of the media engagements, Rauf highlighted that he does not engage with the social media and is not influenced by other views. Frankly speaking, I do not use social media at all, as I understand that people talk without even knowing what they are saying and then they look at their videos afterwards and they do not pay attention to what they actually said, they just pay attention to the number of views that they received, he said.
Rauf emphasized on responsibility and respect in criticism. When you are criticizing someone you must have discipline and you must do this in a respectful manner it always looks better, he added.
The pacer also clarified that fans are not in a position to see the context of situations in matches. When something really occurs in a match, it is evident, such as the number of fielders who were run out, the number of who came in, the circumstances, but people fail to notice. They do not see how the runs were made but they just see that they were made, said Rauf.
These comments were made following a dramatic match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings where the Qalandars lost the final over. Karachi needed 14 runs with the on-field umpire Faisal Afridi examining the ball, and finally Karachi was awarded a five-run penalty, leaving the target at nine. Karachi accomplished the pursuit in three deliveries only with a boundary and a six.
