ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) The Hazara Motorway remained closed for the fourth consecutive day on Monday as activists of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf continued their protest, blocking major entry and exit points and disrupting traffic flow, leaving the region effectively cut off from the rest of the country.
As a result of the motorway closure, traffic pressure on GT Road Abbottabad increased significantly, with an unusually heavy flow of vehicles reported from Chamba Bridge to the Interchange, Salhad, and from Fawara Chowk to Supply.
Under the supervision of SSP Traffic Ishtiaq Khan, the traffic police took special measures to maintain the flow of vehicles. Cones were placed along the center of the road at key locations including Havelian, Salhad, Mandi Morr, and Fawara Chowk, while traffic personnel remained on duty to manage congestion and assist commuters.
Traffic authorities have urged the general public to avoid unnecessary travel and use alternative link roads where possible to reduce congestion and ensure smoother traffic movement during the ongoing situation.
