After being put in to bat by Islamabad United, Hyderabad Kings Men made full use of the batting-friendly conditions. The foundation of their innings was laid through an impressive 101-run partnership between Usman Khan and Kusal Perera, which provided momentum during the middle overs and kept the scoreboard ticking at a healthy rate.
Usman Khan was the standout performer for Kings Men, remaining unbeaten on 61 runs in a composed and impactful knock that anchored the innings till the end. Kusal Perera supported him well with a brisk 37 before being dismissed.
Captain Marnus Labuschagne added valuable runs with a steady 39, while young batter Saim Ayub contributed 38 runs, further strengthening the total. However, the lower middle order could not capitalize in the death overs, as Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for just 3 and Moaz Sadaqat failed to open his account.
On the bowling front, Islamabad United managed to restrict the scoring somewhat in the final overs. Imad Wasim was the most successful bowler, claiming two wickets, while Chris Green, Richard Gleeson and Faheem Ashraf picked up one wicket each.
