Chasing a target of 183 runs, Multan Sultans achieved the total in the 17th over with three wickets in hand  

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 7th, 2026) Multan Sultans registered a convincing seven-wicket victory over Rawalpindi in the HBL PSL 2026 match played at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Chasing a target of 183 runs, Multan Sultans achieved the total in the 17th over with three wickets in hand. Sahibzada Farhan and Josh Philippe played key roles in the run chase, scoring 68 and 56 runs respectively.

Steven Smith was dismissed for 5 runs, while Shan Masood remained unbeaten on 27. Captain Ashton Turner also stayed not out, contributing 26 runs to guide his side home comfortably.

For Rawalpindi, Mohammad Amir picked up two wickets, while Mohammad Aamir Khan claimed one.

Earlier, Rawalpindi, after being invited to bat first, posted 182 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted overs. Sam Billings top-scored with an unbeaten 56, followed by Kamran Ghulam (35), Dyan Forrester (24), captain Mohammad Rizwan (19), and Daryl Mitchell (17). Abdullah Fazal scored 14, Asif Afridi 7, Yasir Khan 5, and Rashid Hussain 1.

For Multan Sultans, Faisal Akram delivered an impressive bowling performance with four wickets, while Arafat Minhas took two. Peter Siddle and Mohammad Ismail claimed one wicket each.
