Health dept terminates services of 4 medical officers over misconduct

The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department has taken strict disciplinary action against four medical officers by terminating their services over charges of incompetence and misconduct

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) The Specialized Healthcare and Medical education Department has taken strict disciplinary action against four medical officers by terminating their services over charges of incompetence and misconduct.

According to an official notification issued on Wednesday, the services of Medical Officer Dr. Waqas Ali, Medical Officer Dr. Hasnain Afzal and Medical Officer Dr. Raheel Ahmed, all posted at Aziz Bhatti Hospital, Gujrat, have been terminated with immediate effect.

The department also terminated the services of Medical Officer Dr. Rashid Nadeem, who had been serving on an ad hoc basis at Mayo Hospital, Lahore, on similar charges of incompetence and misconduct.

The Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department said the action was taken in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations, reaffirming its commitment to ensuring discipline, professionalism and quality healthcare services in public hospitals across Punjab.
