QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Inspector General Police (IGP) Balochistan Muhammad Tahir on Tuesday said that the health and educational welfare of the families of retired police employees, like the serving officers, is our top priority.

He expressed these views while addressing at a farewell ceremony held in honor of the retiring officers at the Central Police Office.

The IGP said that dutiful and capable officers and officials are a valuable asset of the police department who dedicate their lives to the administration of law even after retirement, they have shown practical proof of their professional abilities by performing the duties assigned by the department well during their service.

He said that Police officers and officials have retired after performing their duties in the police department with utmost honesty, the retiring officers and officials have performed their duties with responsibility and dedication.

The IG Balochistan said that the experiences and capabilities of retired police officers should be utilized and the pension, GP fund and all other matters of retired officers should be completed within the said period.

He said that the retired police personnel should benefit from the suggestions on professional technical and investigative matters, which could prove to be very beneficial for policing.

The ceremony was attended by Additional IG Admin Javed Ali Mehar, DIG Headquarters Hassan Asad Ali, DIG Finance Sohail Ahmed Sheikh, DIG Tele Shad Bin Masih, DIG Accountability Bureau Sohail Ahmed, AIG Operations Naveed Alam, AIG General Abid Khan, AIG Development Ahmed Sultan, AIG Complaint Muhammad Hashim, DSP Legal Muhammad Abbas and other officers.

The IG Police Balochistan presented commemorative shields and gifts to the officers who retired after fulfilling their professional responsibilities.

The IG Police Balochistan appreciated the services of the officers for the police department and said that the Balochistan Police would always remember their services.

The officers thanked the IG Police Balochistan for organizing the farewell ceremony on the occasion of retirement, saying that they consider the police department their pride and also gave actionable suggestions for the improvement of the department in the light of their experiences and expressed their determination that if the department needs their services, they will be supportive and helpful at every level.
