MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) Ninety hearing aids were distributed among students at the Special Education school in Shujabad, enabling many to hear sounds for the first time.

Commissioner Multan Division Aamir Karim Khan personally handed over the devices during a ceremony organised by the divisional administration, with financial support from PARCO Managing Director Irtiza Ali Qureshi. The initiative is part of a broader effort to improve the lives of special children across the division.

According to officials, a comprehensive medical survey of 3,030 students in special education institutions identified around 460 children who could benefit from hearing aids.

The current distribution marks the first phase of the project, with more devices to be provided to deserving children in the coming months.

The commissioner told the ceremony participants that access to hearing aids would not only restore hearing but also help children develop speech abilities, significantly enhancing their quality of life. He termed the initiative a successful example of collaboration between the government, corporate sector, and philanthropists.

The commissioner also appreciated the efforts of teachers, the Special Education Department, and administrative staff for their role in supporting and rehabilitating special children.
