A man died from consuming narcotics supplied by the accused

Hearing of murder case against Pinky next week
KARACHI:
A Judicial Magistrate (South) will hear next week a police request to record the complainant's statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in a murder case against alleged drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky. The case was registered at Baghdadi police station against Anmol alias Pinky after an unidentified man allegedly died from consuming narcotics supplied by the accused. The court issued notices to the prosecution and directed it to submit its response by June 8. In a related case, the Judicial Magistrate issued notices to the prosecution on an application filed by two co-accused, Sohail and Zeeshan, seeking removal of their names from the case. The application states that the applicants were not involved in the alleged drug supply operation and had no connection with the principal accused, Anmol. They argued that they had been implicated without sufficient evidence and requested the court to discharge them from the case. Separately, a Judicial Magistrate (East) rejected a police request for the physical remand of an alleged drug dealer, Shireen, and her two sons, Zeeshan and Kamran, and instead remanded them to judicial custody. Police produced the three suspects before the court after their arrest in Gulistan-e-Johar. The officer claimed that approximately 35 cases had previously been registered against Shireen and alleged that she supplied narcotics through the window of her apartment.
