Heavy rainfall continues in Abbottabad; district admin issues emergency measures

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) As heavy rainfall continues to lash Abbottabad, the district administration has swung into action on Friday, issuing directives to the Cantonment board, WASA, and Rescue 1122 for continuous monitoring of drains and water flows to prevent flash flood situations.

The authorities have also initiated measures for the cleaning of choke points and ensuring proper drainage across the city. Monitoring teams have been deployed at various locations to oversee the situation and respond promptly to any emergencies.

In an advisory issued to the public, the district administration has urged citizens to stay away from drains and water flows in case of flash floods.

Residents have also been requested to refrain from throwing garbage into drains, as it can obstruct water flow and exacerbate flooding.
