KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Apr, 2026) Sindh Government spokesperson Sukhdev Hemnani on Tuesday expressed concern over the persistent and worsening gas crisis across the province, particularly in Karachi, where unannounced outages during designated meal hours are severely disrupting daily life.
In a statement, Sindh Government Spokesperson alleged that gas supply is being disrupted without prior notice, even during the limited hours allocated for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
These unannounced shutdowns have left households across Sindh struggling to cook meals and forced many to rely on costly alternatives.
Hemnani pointed out that a similar situation persists in gas-producing districts such as Ghotki, Shikarpur and other areas of Sindh, where despite being key contributors to the country’s natural gas production, residents continue to face low pressure and unannounced load-shedding throughout the year.
Hemnani underscored that the burden of this crisis is falling disproportionately on ordinary citizens.
Emphasizing that gas allocation and distribution fall under Federal jurisdiction, Hemnani demanded of the federal authorities to take immediate corrective measures.
He urged the implementation of a transparent supply schedule and an end to unannounced gas outages, particularly during essential meal hours.
