High Commissioner, Vice Admiral (R) Faisal Rasul Lodhi called on the new Foreign Minister of Maldives, Iruthisham Adam, and congratulated her on her appointment and conveyed profound felicitations on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar

MALDIVES, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) High Commissioner, Vice Admiral (R) Faisal Rasul Lodhi called on the new Foreign Minister of Maldives, Iruthisham Adam, and congratulated her on her appointment and conveyed profound felicitations on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

During the meeting, Maldives’ Foreign Secretary, Fathimath Inaya, Secretary (SA), Aminath Shabeena, Additional Secy Aminath Abdullah Didi and High Commission’s staff also attended the meeting.

Maldives Foreign Minister, Iruthisham Adam appreciated the strategic role of Pakistan as the key mediator for peace and stability in the region and its ongoing efforts to encourage dialogue between Iran and the United States. She underscored that Maldives profoundly support Pakistan’s valuable efforts for peace.

Both dignitaries acknowledged the historically strong bilateral relations based on common faith, mutual trust and respect. A future outlook along with strategy to further strengthen, diversify and manifest the bilateral relations into more tangible outcomes was deliberated.

Iruthisham Adam thanked Government of Pakistan for continued support and assistance; specially in the areas of health, education, socio economic development, youth empowerment, defence, and human resource development.

The High Commissioner reaffirmed commitment to working closely with Government of Maldives to accelerate collaboration along a positive trajectory in all areas of mutual interests.
