LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Punjab Women Protection Authority (PWPA) Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt has taken strict notice of the tragic gang rape of a seven-month pregnant woman in Kahna and sought a detailed report from DIG Operations Lahore.
She directed that the investigation be conducted strictly on merit to ensure exemplary punishment to the accused in accordance with the law.
According to official details, the unfortunate incident occurred in the Kahna area where the victim, associated with a private catering company, was allegedly lured by the company owner to a house in a private society on Defence Road on the pretext of work, where he, along with an accomplice, subjected her to gang rape.
Upon receiving the information, police responded promptly to an emergency call on helpline 15 and, using modern technology, traced and arrested the accused from Johar Town. A case has been registered while further investigation is underway, and the suspects have been handed over to the Gender Cell for legal proceedings.
Hina Parvez Butt termed the incident highly condemnable and tragic, stating that violence, abuse and exploitation against women would not be tolerated under any circumstances. She said strict action would be taken against such elements under the zero-tolerance policy.
She further directed the DIG Operations Lahore to ensure a transparent and merit-based investigation and to bring the culprits to justice in accordance with the law.
Talking to the media, she said that in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, no compromise would be made on the protection of women and those involved in crimes against women would be brought to justice without any leniency.
She emphasised that ensuring a safe Punjab for women is the mission of the provincial government and justice would be ensured for every affected woman.
