The leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Hina Parvez Butt, in her statement on social media, has opposed the news of making a drama on Pinky’s life and said that presenting such characters as heroes is not the right message for the society.

Hina Parvez Butt said that Pinky is not a role model whose life is presented in the form of a drama. He opined that showing characters associated with drug dealing or crime as role models on screen is a shameful act and it can promote wrong trends in the society.

He said that criminals cannot be presented to the public as heroes or role models. According to him, it is the responsibility of the media and entertainment industry to highlight characters who are playing a positive role in the society and can be an example for the younger generation.

The League leader added that humiliating dignified and responsible women in the country cannot be accepted in any way, while those women who are performing positive services in various fields need to be highlighted.

Hina Parvez Butt expressed regret and said that it is not a correct practice to advertise negative characters just for viewership and financial benefits. He urged the media industry to review its priorities and discourage content that gives unnecessary publicity to criminal elements.

He demanded that the growing trend of making role models of people involved in crime should be stopped immediately and any attempt to dramatize pink should be discouraged. According to him, the society needs to promote positive values and constructive characters, not to promote people who are involved in wrong activities.
