Historic shake-up in Abbottabad, all 82 patwaris transferred in unprecedented move

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) In a landmark administrative decision, the District Administration Abbottabad, under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram, has issued a sweeping transfer and posting order for 82 Patwaris across multiple circles and branches with immediate effect.

This large-scale reshuffle is being regarded as the biggest single transfer of Patwaris in the history of Hazara Division, aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency, ensuring better record management, and safeguarding public interest.

According to official details, 21 Patwaris have been transferred between various Patwar circles within Abbottabad, while another 24 officials (entries 59 to 82) have been reassigned from different offices. Several of them have been directed to report to key departments, including the Settlement Officer, SDC Abbottabad, Land Acquisition Branch, and Revenue Record Cell.

A significant number of transfers involve Patwaris from Settlement Havelian, DK Office, and other areas, reflecting a broad-based restructuring within the revenue setup.

The Deputy Commissioner has issued strict instructions to all concerned officials to ensure complete and proper handing and taking over of records. Any incomplete or missing record must be reported to the Deputy Commissioner’s office within 24 hours, failing which it will be presumed that the full historical record has been handed over.

Additionally, Patwaris currently without postings or awaiting further orders have been directed to report to the Deputy Commissioner’s office without delay.

The order underscores a strong commitment to transparency, accountability, and improved governance in land revenue record management across the district.
