The Government of Sindh has also announced the implementation of Phase II of Sindh Solar Scheme 2026, a significant project which will include the introduction of free solar home systems to rural households with low income and those who have no electricity connection in the province.

The program is aimed at assisting families with less or no access to electricity, especially those with less than 100 units per month, and decreasing reliance on the national grid in underserved regions.

How to Apply for Sindh Solar Scheme Phase II

Eligible residents can apply through the following process:

1. Eligibility Check
Applicants must be permanent residents of Sindh, preferably from rural and underdeveloped areas, and fall under low-income categories. Households with minimal electricity usage or no formal connection are prioritized.

2. Required Documents
Applicants should prepare:

  • Copy of CNIC
  • Proof of residence (domicile or utility bill if available)
  • Recent electricity bill (if applicable)

3. Application Submission
Applications are submitted through local field teams of the Sindh Energy Department or via Union Council offices. Officials are conducting door-to-door surveys in targeted districts.

4. Verification Process
After submission, teams verify household conditions, income status, and electricity access before approval.

5. Installation Phase
Approved households receive a 3-light solar home system, which typically includes:

  • 3 LED bulbs
  • 1 DC fan
  • Mobile charging facility

Installation is carried out by authorized technical teams following verification.

Priority Areas

In the initial phase, the program is expected to focus on rural districts such as:

  • Larkana
  • Qambar Shahdadkot

Expansion to other districts will follow based on implementation progress.

Program Objective

The initiative aims to:

  • Improve energy access in rural Sindh
  • Reduce electricity poverty
  • Promote renewable energy adoption
  • Support climate-friendly infrastructure development

According to energy-related updates, the scheme targets around 275,000 households in Phase II, making it one of the largest solar distribution programs in the province.

Financial and administrative support for implementation is also being coordinated with institutions including Sindh Bank Limited and local government bodies.

Official Updates

Residents are advised to stay connected with local Union Councils and official announcements for verification drives and application timelines. Authorities have also urged citizens to avoid unofficial agents and rely only on verified government channels.
