Huge fire reduces valuable goods to ashes in Gujrat commercial plaza

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) A massive fire broke out in a three-storey plaza located in Muslim Bazaar, Gujrat on Friday, reducing valuable belongings worth millions to ashes, while rescue teams successfully launched an operation to bring the blaze under control.

According to initial reports, the blaze rapidly spread through the three-storey plaza, engulfing 10 of its 12 shops

and causing extensive damage, a media channel reported.

A large police contingent, headed by the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), promptly arrived at the scene to oversee security and facilitate emergency operations.

Rescue 1122 dispatched seven firefighting teams, which battled the flames for several hours before successfully bringing the fire under control.

Authorities cordoned off the area as emergency personnel worked to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby buildings.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, while officials were assessing the extent of the losses caused by the incident.
