BUREWALA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) A human skeleton was recovered during sand excavation in the outskirts of Chak 435/EB on Sunday,police said.
According to police,the remains believed to be of a woman were taken into custody along with bangles and decomposed clothing found at the site.
A social worker,Musarrat Shaheen of Mujahid Colony claimed the remains belonged to her daughter namely as Uzma,who was abducted six years ago within the jurisdiction of City Police Station.
She said the identification was made on the basis of clothing and bangles recovered alongside the skeleton.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Police said a case had been registered at the time of the abduction but the victim could not be recovered despite efforts.
Family sources alleged that Uzma was killed and buried at the location,naming a suspect,Khurram Bhatti,in connection with the case.
Officials said the skeleton has been sent for DNA analysis to determine its identity,adding that no conclusive statement can be made until forensic results were received.
Meanwhile, the family took custody of the remains and offered funeral prayers.
Further investigation was underway.
