Husband, wife and two children die as roof collapses in South Waziristan

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) A man, his wife and their two children were killed when roof of a dilapidated house collapsed during the heavy rainfall in South Waziristan, local police and rescue teams informed on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in Ahmad Wam Bangay Wala, located in the Sararogha tehsil of South Waziristan district.

Police said, the family was asleep when the roof of a room suddenly caved in during small hours today.

The victims were identified as Wajidullah, his wife, their son and their daughter, who were buried under the debris and died at the scene.

The tragedy has left the local community in mourning, with residents expressing deep sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family.

Local residents have urged the government and district administration to provide immediate financial assistance and alternative housing for the surviving family members.

Initial reports suggest that the roof collapsed due to structural damage caused by the recent spell of heavy rain.
