Hyderabad storm into next round after beating Multan Sultans

LAHORE: Hyderabad Kingsmen defeated Multan Sultans by 8 wickets in the first eliminator of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11, ending Multan’s campaign in the tournament.

The match, played at Gaddafi Stadium, saw Hyderabad win the toss and opt to field first.

Batting first, Multan Sultans posted 159 for 9 in their 20 overs, powered by a brilliant unbeaten 69 off 46 balls by Shan Masood. Other contributions included Sahibzada Farhan (15), Steve Smith (13), and Mohammad Nawaz (18).

For Hyderabad Kingsmen, Mohammad Ali, Hunain Shah, and Akif Javed claimed two wickets each.

In response, Hyderabad chased down the 160-run target comfortably in the 16th over, losing just two wickets. Maaz Sadaqat remained unbeaten on 64, while Usman Khan scored a quick 64 off 35 balls. Saim Ayub added an unbeaten 15 runs.

With this loss, Multan Sultans were eliminated from PSL 11. Hyderabad Kingsmen will now face Islamabad United in eliminator 2 on Friday, with the winner set to meet Peshawar Zalmi in the final.
