Hyderabad: two suspects killed in police encounters

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) The Hyderabad police gunned down 2 suspected robbers in separate encounters occurring in the wee hours of Sunday in the limits of Market and Phuleli police stations.

A police official informed that a robber was killed during an exchange of fire with the cops of Market police station near Bilal Complex in Bakra Mandi area.

The slain suspect, whose dead body was shifted to Liaquat University Hospital for postmortem, was identified as Abdul Ghafoor Maachi.

The second encounter took place in Tando Agha area in which a suspected robber Asif Ali Khakrani was killed while a police constable, Shoaib Rajput, was injured with a bullet wound to his leg.

The police also rounded up an accomplice of the slain robber, Sajid Bhayo.

The injured cop was also rushed to the LUH where the dead body of Khakrani was also taken for an autopsy.

The police claimed recovery of one pistol each from the slain suspects.
