ICG launches two-week Summer Fiesta 2026 to promote students' technological, creative skills

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2026) Islamabad College for Girls, F-6/2 on Sunday has launched a two-week Summer Fiesta 2026, offering students an opportunity to develop technological, creative and vocational skills through a wide range of summer courses and hands-on workshops.

The festival aims to provide an engaging learning environment where students can enhance their talents through interactive activities, practical training and creative experiences.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, Nadeem Mehboob said that the initiative would provide students with valuable learning opportunities through diverse summer courses and practical workshops. He said that the fiesta had been designed to encourage learning beyond the classroom by combining education with fun and creativity.

Through colourful activities, interactive sessions and hands-on experiences, students would be able to explore new talents, build confidence and enhance their abilities. He wished all participants a rewarding and enjoyable Summer Fiesta 2026.

Director General of the Federal Directorate of Education, Javed Iqbal Mirza said that education was the foundation of personal growth and national development, equipping young people with knowledge, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meet future challenges.

He said that workshops and skill-based courses played a vital role in nurturing creativity, innovation, teamwork and leadership qualities, encouraging students to discover their interests and prepare for the opportunities of a rapidly changing world.

The DG said that investing in education was an investment in a brighter future, adding that initiatives like Summer Fiesta created a positive learning environment where students could learn, grow and become responsible citizens contributing to society and national progress.

Senior officials of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, diplomats, educationists and parents attended the opening ceremony.

The Summer Fiesta features courses in Coding and Robotics, Digital Creativity, Creative Arts, Coding with Scratch, Fashion Couture, Creative Embellishment, Design Lab, Communication Skills, Professional Culinary Arts Training, Pottery, Fabric Painting, Art and Design Workshop, and Taekwondo.

The event also included with colourful cultural performances, with students presenting a medley of regional songs and an impressive Taekwondo demonstration.

The guests visited classrooms and activity stalls and appreciated the students' creativity, talent and enthusiastic participation.
