ICT Police joins national counter-terrorism conference in Karachi

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police participated in the first “National Counter Terrorism Conference” held in Karachi to discuss coordinated strategies against terrorism and strengthen inter-provincial cooperation among law enforcement agencies.

An official told APP on Sunday that SSP Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Islamabad Saud Khan represented ICT Police at the conference.

Inspector General of Police Sindh Ghulam Nabi Memon attended the conference as chief guest, while senior police officers from Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan also participated in the event.

The official said participants exchanged views on joint counter-terrorism strategies, intelligence sharing and coordinated efforts to effectively combat terrorism and maintain peace across the country.

The conference also reaffirmed the commitment of all law enforcement agencies to strengthen mutual cooperation for ensuring national security and lasting peace, he added.
