ICT Police net 13 in anti-crime crackdown, recover drugs, weapons

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jul, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have arrested 13 suspects, including proclaimed offenders and court absconders, during a crackdown against crime in different parts of the Federal capital, recovering narcotics and illegal weapons from their possession.

An official told APP on Monday that the operation was launched on the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi as part of the ongoing campaign to curb crime and ensure the safety of citizens.

He said police teams of Phulgran, Kirpa and Industrial Area police stations arrested nine suspects involved in drug peddling and illegal possession of weapons.

During the operation, police recovered 1,745 grams of ice (methamphetamine), four pistols of different calibres along with ammunition, and two daggers from the possession of the arrested suspects. Separate cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway.

The official said Islamabad Police also arrested four proclaimed offenders and court absconders during a special drive aimed at apprehending wanted criminals and habitual offenders.

SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza said Islamabad Police remained committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and would continue indiscriminate action against criminals.
