ICT Police net 19 lawbreakers, seize drugs and weapons in crackdown

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police on Sunday arrested 19 accused involved in different criminal activities during operations in various areas of the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Sunday that police teams of Karachi Company, Sumbal, Industrial Area, Khanna, Korral, Nilore, Shahzad Town and Bani Gala police stations arrested 13 accused during a crackdown.

He said police recovered 1,020 grams of opium, 880 grams of hashish, 385 grams of ice and eight pistols along with ammunition from their possession.

The official said cases had been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway.

Additionally, during a special campaign against proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams arrested six more criminals, taking the total number of arrests to 19.

Following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Islamabad Police continues its effective crackdown against criminal elements to ensure peace and tranquility in the federal capital.

He urged citizens to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” for timely action.
