ICT Police put Afghan dacoit in handcuffs, looted cash recovered

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested an Afghan national allegedly involved in multiple robbery incidents during an operation in the jurisdiction of Sabzi Mandi Police Station.

An official told APP on Sunday that the police team used technical tools and human intelligence to trace and apprehend the accused.

He said snatched cash was also recovered from the possession of the arrested suspect.

The official said cases had already been registered against the accused and further investigation was underway.

DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said strict action was being taken against individuals involved in motorcycle theft and street crimes in the Federal capital.

He said the ongoing crackdown had resulted in a noticeable decline in such incidents.

The DIG directed officers to continue operations against criminal elements and ensure their arrest.
