The district administration aimed to vaccinate 447,614 children during the ongoing campaign through door-to-door visits, schools and public places across the city.

A review meeting on the progress of the anti-polio drive was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon. The meeting was attended by all assistant commissioners and officials from the health department.

During the meeting, officials briefed participants on the performance of polio workers, operational challenges and daily progress figures of the campaign.

According to the briefing, teams working in urban and rural areas continued vaccination activities to ensure children receive polio drops at their homes, schools and public locations.

Officials informed the meeting that the target for the ongoing campaign in Islamabad was set at 447,614 children. By the end of the third day, 406,185 children had been administered polio drops, taking the campaign to 91 percent completion.

The district administration also reviewed security arrangements and other administrative matters linked to the campaign. Deputy Commissioner, Irfan Nawaz Memon examined the field performance of teams and discussed progress with assistant commissioners individually. Officials shared updates from different areas and informed the meeting about issues faced by workers during field operations.

Health authorities said polio teams were continuing their work in all sectors of Islamabad to ensure that no child would be left out of the campaign. Teams have been visiting homes and educational institutions while also setting up vaccination points at public places to increase coverage.

The deputy commissioner appreciated the efforts of polio workers and urged citizens to cooperate with vaccination teams. He said the support of parents and residents was necessary for the success of the campaign and for the elimination of polio from the country.

Speaking during the meeting, Irfan Nawaz Memon said polio could not be eradicated without public cooperation. He appealed to families to ensure that children receive polio drops during every campaign.

Officials said the administration and health department were working together to achieve the remaining target in the coming days. Monitoring of field teams and vaccination activities was continuing to improve coverage in all parts of the federal capital.

The anti-polio campaign is part of ongoing national efforts to protect children from the virus and prevent new cases in the country. Authorities have repeatedly asked parents to cooperate with health workers and make sure children under the required age receive the vaccine.

The district administration said teams would continue their visits until the campaign target would be fully achieved. Citizens were also encouraged to report missed children so that vaccination teams can revisit those areas and ensure complete coverage.
