ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Inspector General of Police Gilgit-Baltistan, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan on Saturday said comprehensive arrangements had been made for smooth and transparent polling and warned political parties and supporters against taking the law into their own hands after the election results will be announced.
IG Akbar Nasir Khan, while speaking to ptv news, said that special arrangements were made for polling officers and voters coming from far-flung areas to ensure smooth conduct of the election process. He said all necessary facilities were provided so that no one faced difficulties in reaching polling stations.
He added that more than 17,000 personnel from security and civil forces were deployed across Gilgit-Baltistan to maintain law and order during polling.

The IG warned political parties, winning candidates and supporters not to take the law into their own hands after the announcement of results.
He stressed that any celebration must remain disciplined and within the bounds of law, and that no unlawful activity would be tolerated.
He further said that strict action would be taken against any violation of law and order, adding that all arrangements were in place and polling remained smooth across the region with a large voter turnout recorded.
