IG Islamabad celebrates Eid with families of police martyrs

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th May, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi celebrated Eid-ul-Adha with families and children of police martyrs, paying tribute to their sacrifices for peace and security.

An official told APP on Wednesday that a large Eid congregation was held at Police Lines Headquarters Mosque where the IGP, senior police officers and jawans offered Eid prayers together.

Following the Eid prayers, the IGP Rizvi exchanged Eid greetings with police personnel and embraced officers and jawans on the occasion.

Rizvi later visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada where he laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha for the departed souls of police martyrs.

During the visit, the IGP Rizvi also spent time with children of martyrs, mingled with them warmly and extended Eid greetings.

“Families of martyrs are my own family,” the IGP said, adding that children of martyrs would never be left alone.

He said the nation was celebrating a peaceful Eid because of the sacrifices rendered by police martyrs for protection of citizens and maintenance of peace.
