PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed has announced that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in blocking roads in the province.
Briefly talking with media here Wednesday, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed said the court has issued clear orders to immediately reopen all roads and no leniency will be shown to anyone.
He stated that the ongoing law and order situation in the province remains a major challenge and all possible measures are being taken to bring the situation under control.
The IGP further emphasized that after the implementation of the court’s directive, anyone found involved in road blockades will face strict action under the law, regardless of their political or group affiliation.
He also clarified that police are making every effort to maintain peace and stability in the province and once the roads are reopened, the public will be able to travel without disruption.
