ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued notices to the federal government seeking a response over the non-appointment of the Indus Water Commissioner, describing the matter as a serious issue. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir heard the petition filed by Judicial Activism. Advocate Azhar Siddiq who appeared on behalf of the petitioner and submitted before the court that the position has been vacant since September 1, 2025. "This is a serious issue," the court observed. The IHC adjourned further hearing of the case until June 9.
