IHC dismisses plea against offloading citizen

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday dismissed a petition challenging the offloading of a citizen from Karachi's Jinnah International Airport without being informed of the reasons, directing the petitioner to seek relief from the relevant forum.

Justice Muhammad Azam Khan heard the petition filed by complainant Faisal Nawaz.

During the hearing, the petitioner's counsel submitted that the petitioner was scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia from Karachi on July 9, and possessed a valid work visa, passport, protector clearance, air ticket and all other required travel documents. However, he was offloaded at Jinnah International Airport without being given any reason.

The counsel further stated that a representation had been submitted to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), but no response had been received.

Justice Azam Khan questioned why the petitioner had approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) when the alleged incident had taken place in Karachi.

"If every person offloaded anywhere in Pakistan comes to the Islamabad High Court, how will that work? If you were offloaded in Karachi, you should approach the relevant forum," the judge remarked.

The court dismissed the petition for lack of territorial jurisdiction and directed the petitioner to seek appropriate legal remedy before the competent forum.
