IHC issues written order regarding stopping CDA operation in Saidpur

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued a written order restraining the Capital Development Authority (CDA) from evicting the local population and demolishing their houses in the historic Saidpur village.

A single-member bench of Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas issued a one-page order regarding the hearing of a petition filed by the affected residents.

According to the petitioner’s counsel, the court had already passed an order in Writ Petition No. 1488/2026. The lawyer requested the court to issue directives in accordance with the previously existing judicial orders.

The court issued notices to the parties involved and sought their comments on the matter. "Parties are directed to submit their replies before the court prior to the next hearing," read the order.

The bench further directed that the current petition be clubbed with the previously filed petition and fixed for hearing together.

In a significant relief to the petitioners, the court ordered that the CDA shall not demolish or seal the properties of the petitioners until the next date of hearing.

The hearing has been adjourned for a later date.
