ILT20 Season 5 set for November 22 start in UAE; 34 matches scheduled

This year’s edition has been planned earlier than usual, as the previous season took place in December and January

DUBAI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 14^th, 2026) The fifth season of the International League T20 (ILT20) in the United Arab Emirates is scheduled to be held from November 22 to December 20, featuring 34 matches across three venues.

This year’s edition has been planned earlier than usual, as the previous season took place in December and January. The revised schedule has been designed to avoid clashes with other major franchise leagues, including South Africa’s SA20, which begins after January 10.

The tournament will comprise 30 league-stage mathes followed by four playoff fixtures. As in previous editions, matches will be staged in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, with Dubai once again hosting the final.

The officials said the scheduling adjustment aims to ensure the availability of international players and maintain the league’s competitive quality during a crowded global T20 Calendar.

ILT20 Chief Executive Officer David White expressed satisfaction over the success of the previous season, saying strong broadcast reach, growing fan engagement, and participation of leading international cricketers have helped strengthen the league’s standing.

He added that the competition continues to develop into one of the key franchise-based T20 leagues worldwide.

Six franchises will compete for the title in the upcoming season, including Desert Vipers, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, Dubai Capitals, Sharjah Warriors, and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

The ILT20 has steadily grown since its inception, attracting global talent and expanding its commercial and sporting footprint in international cricket.
