SANGHAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) Chief Sardar Raja Ghulam Murtaza Khaskheli, head of the Pakistan Khaskheli Rajoni Ittehad, has said that nearly 70 per cent of Pakistan’s economy depends on agriculture, cautioning that any threat to water resources could severely impact the country’s economic stability.

Speaking to APP, he alleged that India was attempting to weaken Pakistan by violating the Indus Waters Treaty an agreement brokered through international mediation — by seeking control over Pakistan’s water resources. He urged the government to raise the matter effectively at international forums and respond firmly to what he described as India’s “aggressive actions.

He maintained that the Indus Waters Treaty is a binding international accord between Pakistan and India, and India has no legal right to block Pakistan’s water. “We will not accept such actions at any cost,” he asserted.

Mr Khaskheli further said that the Pakistan Khaskheli Rajoni Ittehad, representing various communities across Sindh, stands firmly with the government on this issue. He added that the people of Pakistan remain united and determined to safeguard national interests and counter any hostile designs.
