LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 28th, 2026) Lahore General Hospital’s dedicated and skilled medical team has once again demonstrated outstanding professional expertise by saving the life of a three-month-old infant. Doctors successfully removed a metal washer from the child’s stomach through a delicate endoscopic procedure.

Principal Amir-ud-Din Medical College Professor Dr. Farooq Afzal and Medical Superintendent Professor Dr. Faryad Hussain congratulated the medical team on this remarkable achievement. They stated that providing timely and quality healthcare remains the hospital’s top priority, adding that the availability of modern medical facilities and experienced doctors enables successful management of even the most complex cases, reinforcing public trust in the institution.

According to details, the infant, Ali Zain, had been suffering from fever and cough for the past ten days.

Despite receiving treatment at a private clinic, his condition continued to deteriorate. An X-ray later revealed the presence of a dangerous foreign body in his stomach.

The child was immediately shifted to Lahore General Hospital in critical condition, where Assistant Professor of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Dr. Hooria Rehman, performed the procedure under the supervision of Professor Dr. Muhammad Shahid. Using advanced endoscopic techniques, the team successfully removed the steel washer, saving the infant’s life.

Following the successful treatment, the child’s condition has improved significantly. The parents expressed immense gratitude and offered heartfelt prayers for the doctors and medical staff.
