Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Thursday directed further strengthening of security arrangements for Chinese experts and other foreign nationals across the province while ordering an accelerated campaign for the repatriation of illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghan nationals

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Thursday directed further strengthening of security arrangements for Chinese experts and other foreign nationals across the province while ordering an accelerated campaign for the repatriation of illegally residing foreign nationals, including Afghan nationals.

Chairing a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO), the IGP reviewed security arrangements for Chinese experts and other foreign nationals, the repatriation process of illegally residing foreigners, including Afghan nationals, and the overall law and order situation in Punjab.

Additional Inspector General (Operations) Zahid Nawaz Marwat briefed the meeting on the security measures and operational developments.

The IGP directed police to further enhance security at Chinese and other foreign consulates, as well as at the residences and workplaces of Chinese experts and other foreign nationals. He also ordered stricter security during their movement to ensure complete protection.

Abdul Kareem instructed that the security protocols for Chinese and other foreign nationals be reviewed in consultation with police officers, the Special Branch, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and other security agencies to make them more effective.

He also directed authorities to accelerate the repatriation campaign for all illegally residing foreign nationals and migrants, including Afghan nationals, across the province.

The IGP instructed the Special Branch, CTD and other intelligence agencies to ensure the timely identification of illegally residing foreign nationals through intelligence-based information. He further ordered the continuation of intelligence-led search, sweep and combing operations across Punjab, including inter-provincial border areas.

Abdul Kareem also directed officers deployed at inter-provincial border police check posts to remain on high alert and maintain strict vigilance against the activities of Fitna Al-Khawarij, Fitna Al-Hindustan and other anti-state elements to ensure law and order throughout the province.

The meeting was attended by CCPO Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan, Addl IG Special Branch, DIG Special Protection Unit, while all regional police officers, city police officers and district police officers participated via video link.
