Inter-District Girls and Boys athletics championship held in Sargodha

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) The Divisional Sports Department organized the Inter-District Girls and Boys Athletics Championship at the Sports Stadium Sargodha, bringing together male and female athletes from Sargodha, Khushab, Bhakkar, and Mianwali districts.

According to the spokesperson for District sports office Sargodha here on Thursday, the championship featured separate competitions for boys and girls, providing young athletes with an opportunity to showcase their talent and athletic abilities.

The event was supervised by Divisional Sports Officer Rana Nadeem Anjum, while all arrangements were made under the supervision of District Sports Officer Sargodha, Madam Saima Manzoor.

A variety of track and field events were conducted, including 100-meter, 200-meter, and 400-meter races, relay races, long jump, javelin throw, discus throw, and shot put competitions.

Speaking on the occasion, Divisional Sports Officer Rana Nadeem Anjum welcomed the athletes from participating districts and congratulated the winners on their achievements.

He said that stepping onto the sports field is itself a significant accomplishment for any athlete.

He further stated that these athletics competitions are part of the Sports Department’s annual Calendar and are being regularly organized under the guidance and patronage of Punjab Chief Minister , the Minister for Sports, and the Director General Sports Punjab to promote sports and healthy activities among youth.

At the conclusion of the championship, Divisional Sports Officer Rana Nadeem Anjum and District Sports Officer Sargodha Madam Saima Manzoor, along with the District Sports Officers of Khushab, Mianwali, and Bhakkar, distributed prizes among the athletes who secured prominent positions and delivered outstanding performances in the event.
