Inter-provincial drug trafficking wanted Dociot killed in encounter

LARKANA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has praised and commended Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Larkana Ahmed Chaudhry and his team for sending a dacoit (bandit), carrying a reward of 5 million rupees, involved in inter-provincial drug trafficking, serious crimes, wanted by police, and responsible for the martyrdom of a constable, to hell in a police encounter here on Wednesday.

The Home Minister of Sindh has ordered further intensification of operations against dacoits and their facilitators.The operation will continue until the elimination of the last dacoit.

According to SSP Larkana a dacoit carrying a reward of 5 million rupees, who was also an inter-provincial drug dealer, was killed in a police encounter. The killed dacoit was the main culprit in the case of the martyrdom of Constable Mushtaq Ahmed Tunio and the ringleader of the Abro gang.

He said that the encounter, following intelligence about the presence of dacoits, took place in the Arab Pir area near Thana Walid with the assistance of a Federal civil sensitive institution. Due to crossfire during the police encounter, the dacoit was killed by his own accomplices’ firing.The killed dacoit has been identified as Wahid Bakhsh, also known as Sono Abro., SSP Chaudhry added.

He said the killed dacoit was named in over 30 serious cases, including drug peddling, ATA (Anti-Terrorism Act), highway robbery, and police encounter cases.The killed dacoit was also involved in drug peddling as well as looting and snatching incidents.

The criminal record and CCTV footage of the killed dacoits have been obtained.

A search operation is ongoing at the encounter site for the arrest of fleeing dacoits.
